Patent Design Joystick for Steam Deck

Revolutionary technology of Electromagnetic Sticks Solves Drifting Ultimately. This joystick module is specially designed and compatible perfectly with Steam Deck, precisely replacing the original one.

How to install the Joystick Module

-First, turn off your Steam Deck ( it's not turning it into sleep mode ), disconnect any cables;
-Remove SD card first if your Steam Deck has SD card before opening the back cover;
-Use a pry and insert it into the gap between the back cover and the front cover along with the grip;
-Pry up the back cover to release it from the locking points;
-Hold the front case with one hand, and pull the back cover up carefully with another hand and remove it from the device completely.

Remove the joystick module cable

-Use the tip of a pair of tweezers to lift up the small locking flap on the joystick cable's ZIF connector and take the cable out of the connector;
-Grip the cable by the blue pull-tab, not by the cable itself;
-Use a Phillips driver to remove the three 5.2 mm screws, then you can remove the joystick module off your Steam Deck.

Desoder the cap touch sensing wire

-Use your soldering station and soldering tool to desolder the touch sensing wire off the board of the original joystick module that you just removed;
-Next, pull up the cap hard out of the joystick. Now you get the joystick cap with the desoldered wire attached;
-Plug the cap hard onto the joystick, and use your soldering station and soldering tool to solder the touch sensing wire to the pad on the board edge of the joystick module.
-Your joystick will work without cap touch sensing if the wire is not soldered.
-Put the joystick module back to the joystick position of your Steam Deck, install the screws back, plug the cable into the ZIF connector, and lock it.
-New joysticks require calibration to work as expected. To calibrate new thumbsticks, follow the calibration guide belowSteam Deck has its joysticks calibrated from the factory, and calibration values vary on each of it.
-Enter joystick calibration interface on Steam Deck calibration is well finished if you see the spot return to center position ( 0,0 ). Then you are good to screw up the shells and use Steam Deck.
